Woman Arrested For Vehicular Manslaughter After Crash On Highway 99

A Cottonwood woman caused a fatal crash Friday afternoon and then fled the scene, according to the CHP. 46-year-old Rebecca Bryant was reportedly northbound on Highway 99 East at Singer Creek when she allowed her Toyota Corolla to drift into the opposing lane. Coming the other way was Allejandro Arrellano in a 1999 Chevy Malibu. He swerved to miss the Toyota and ran head-on into a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado, driven by Felton Price the Third of Chico, that had been behind the Toyota. Arrellano and price suffered major injuries and Arrellano’s passenger, a 52-year-old man, was killed. His name has not been released. Rebecca Bryant was found in Shasta County a short time later and arrested for vehicular manslaughter.
