Two Injured Near Sundial Bridge After Bull Jumps Into Crowd At Redding Rodeo

Spectators are rarely in danger at a rodeo, but one of those rare occurrences happened Friday night in Redding. During the final section of bull riding, an especially rambunctious bull threw his rider and then jumped high over the arena fence into the crowd. After injuring three spectators, the bull escaped the rodeo grounds and ran through the parking lot. With wranglers chasing him, the bull encountered a man and woman near the Sundial Bridge and injured both of them before rodeo staff was able to contain the bull in a trailer. The woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Her condition is not known. The Justin Sports Medicine Team and Mercy ambulance personnel provided first aid to the injured spectators. The bull was returned to his ranch and did not participate in the Saturday rodeo.
