There was a gun scare at Enterprise High School Wednesday morning, but there was no violence and the situation was quickly neutralized. At 8:35AM the school resource officer was told that a student on campus was armed with a gun. The gun was reported to be in the student’s pocket, although it was never displayed or pointed at anyone. The school was placed on lockdown and within minutes the suspected student was found and detained. The student was not in possession of a gun and denied ever having been. A lengthy search was done to cover all the areas the student had accessed, but nothing was found. School resource officers were on alert all day at the other area school campuses. On Wednesday afternoon a message was sent to parents of Boulder Creek Elementary School students saying that students had reported hearing a fellow student make a threat toward the school. RPD and school officials apparently determined that there was no credible threat, though the student was disciplined.
