The CHP has identified a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that severely injured a Trinity County motorcyclist. Just after 3 o’clock on May 24th, the male driver of a 1987 Toyota 4Runner was westbound on Highway 299 when he turned left toward the Salyer Store parking lot. He turned directly into the path of a 1970 Honda motorcycle ridden by 75-year-old Jaques Loren of Salyer. Loren tried to brake but there was no time and he crashed into the right side of the Toyota and was ejected. The Toyota driver abandoned the SUV he was driving and was seen getting into a white Toyota FJ Cruiser that left eastbound. Loren was taken to a Humboldt County hospital with major injuries. The CHP says the driver they’re looking for is Mark Raymond Sneesby. A photo is on the KQMS Facebook page. Anyone who knows Sneesby’s whereabouts can call CHP dispatch at 242-3210.
