Observers Crowd Elections Office As Ballots Continue To Be Counted

The Shasta County Elections Office continues to be crowded with observers as the ballot processing continues. Things have gotten a bit more civil in the antiquated facilities, according to County Clerk and Registrar Cathy Darling-Allen. She says the two story rented office was not designed to handle such a large volume of outsiders, and she does have the authority to limit their numbers if she sees fit to do so. Tuesday night Darling-Allen says she personally got very little work done as the office was overwhelmed with dozens of observers, some of whom became rather hostile and made demands that could not be accommodated.
