CHP: Wanted Man Killed In Crash During High Speed Pursuit In Tehama County

A man died in Tehama County when he crashed a car while fleeing police, according to the CHP. Sunday morning a woman reported that her boyfriend, 45-year-old Wesley Wilson, had strangled her to unconsciousness and when she woke up he threw something at her, which cut her face. She convinced him to take her to seek medical attention and he dropped her off at Saint Elizabeth Hospital. Just after Noon on Sunday a Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted Wilson driving a Toyota Camry south on Highway 99 out of Red Bluff, and tried to pull him over. A high speed chase ensued, during which Wilson lost control of the Camry in the rainy conditions. The small car left the highway and hit a tree, then spun around and ejected Wilson, who was not wearing a seatbelt. He died after arriving at the hospital.
