For the second year, the Redding Fire and Police Departments are in a competition that will benefit local blood supplies. Anyone who donates blood to Vitalant Shasta Wednesday or Thursday can use their donation as a vote of support for either Redding Police or Redding Fire. The donation center is set up at City Hall from noon to 4 Wednesday and 11:30 to 2:30 Thursday. Walk-ins are accepted but appointments are strongly encouraged at donors.vitalant.org
