Redding Police say they arrested an armed domestic violence suspect Wednesday night. At 10:15PM a crying woman made a 9-1-1 call to report that her husband, 64-year-old Gary Riddle, was hurting her. A man could be heard in the background yelling at her. When officers arrived at the house, Riddle was standing on the front porch with a knife in his hand. He was reportedly yelling at the officers and demanding that they shoot him. He refused to drop the knife despite the pleas of the police, and he was eventually hit with beanbag rounds and taken into custody. After being treated at a hospital,Riddle was booked into jail for domestic violence with corporal injury and other charges.
