Grant From The State Water Board Will Help With Water Shortages

Some grant money is available for Shasta County residents experiencing hardship due to poor water supplies. Nearly $2.5 Million in drought relief money has been awarded to the county by the State Water Resources Control Board. The funding can pay for water supply assessment, bottled water delivery, water tanks and hauled water, well pump repairs and replacement, well deepening and new wells. To qualify, households must have income equal or less than 80% of the statewide median income of about $78,000. Those with water issues can call 225-5787 to see if they’re eligible.
