A wanted man escaped from Redding Police downtown Sunday. 33-year-old Shawn Edward Applehans the Second is on Post Release Supervision and has an outstanding warrant. When an officer tried to arrest him at the Americana Hotel on Market Street, he got away on foot. Police say a loaded handgun was found in his car.
