A Tehama County judge is hoping probation will curb a Rancho Tehama man of his ill temper. 53-year-old Emmett Dancer has had issues with lashing out for years. He stabbed a man in 2013 and injured someone in a DUI crash in 2009. In a more recent outburst, Dancer shot someone’s dog in a dispute over property. He was prohibited from having a gun due to prior convictions. On another occasion, two tow truck drivers were about to tow away some vehicles when Dancer approached them and threatened to kill them. He also violated the terms of his probation by committing these crimes and by failing to complete his community service. Still, he’s been given another chance with a sentence of 270 days in county jail and 2 years probation.
