Two Redding Electric Utility outages Sunday lasted well into the night. A power outage in South Redding was caused by a car sheering off a power pole. Eastside Road was closed from Breslauer Way to Progress Drive while repairs were made. Around 500 Redding Electric Utility customers lost power in a wide area around the north end of Shasta View Drive. It was apparently caused by a broken circuit requiring a line inspection before restoration. All but 16 customers were restored overnight.
